Getting started with your creative projects is so easy with the Cricut Explore Air 2. Let’s dive right in, so I can show you just how easy it is to create a cute T-shirt for the spring and summer.
Simply turn on your Cricut Explore Air 2 and open your Cricut Design Space, select in top left corner a blue box with a ” + sign and Create New Project” or you can select from the existing categories of project on the right side of the screen. Each box contains projects and instructions to create so many amazing creative ideas. If you can think it, it is so easy to create with step by step instructions and guidance from beginning to end.
If you want to create your own project like I did all you have to do is select your canvas from one of the images listed in the “Set Canvas” area. You can easily scroll until you find the canvas to suit your project.
Today I am going to share with you The Palm Trees are Calling project!! I was so excited to see this image available in the Design Space. I discovered this image searching for Palm Trees symbolizing my relocation to Florida. I selected “Insert Images” at the top of the navigation options. I searched via the search box for Palm Trees.
I scrolled until I found the image I wanted. I had a choice of free images that come automatically with the Design Space and additional premium images. The one I selected was a premium image which was only $1.99 for my project. I love love love the this image. All I had to do is select (see the check mark), then insert image into the project.
Once you insert your image on the canvas of your choice you can move it around resize it and see how larger you want to image to be. You are ready to start cutting your design to later iron on your t-shirt.
Select Iron On Transfer – I selected Cricut Iron On “Glitter Black Gold“ on a Golden Rod T-shirt…
Using the Cricut Weeder I was able to quickly separate the cutout image and the areas of the iron what wasn’t part of the design. Once excess iron on material is removed from the image
Once my image has been weeded by the weeder I am ready to iron my image to my t-shirt. Place your iron on transfer positioned where you want it glossy side up. The transfer material is designed to withstand the high heat of an iron or an heat press…
Viola all done!! I decided to cut the neck out of my t-shirt and tie knots on the sleeves just to add a funky touch!! This has become my theme shirt for my relocation to Florida!! The Palm Trees are Calling and I Must Go!! Everything I needed for this project was already a part of the design space. Only thing I needed was the Glitter Iron On and my Cricut Weeder. In record time you can create anything your can imagine. The possibilities are endless with ease.
